Parent Advisory Council & Child PlaygroupClassesWaitlistBirth to 5 Years This special ECFE offering combines meaningful parent involvement with fun, play-based learning for children. While children enjoy a guided playgroup with licensed early childhood staff, parents and caregivers meet as part of the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) to help shape the future of ECFE programming. If you’re interested in joining, please let us know—we’d love to have you! Please email ceinfo@isd191.org. Include Parent Advisory in the subject line. (There is no cost to become part of the PAC.) During this class: Children participate in age-appropriate activities that support social, emotional, and cognitive development through play, music, and exploration. Parents/Caregivers engage in discussion and planning sessions focused on ECFE events, program feedback, community outreach, and parent leadership. School districts and organizations offer READY! to help close the achievement gap by partnering with parents so more children succeed in school and in life. How READY! for Kindergarten Works READY! for Kindergarten consists of Age Level Targets©, training, and tools to "play with a purpose," making learning at home fun and effective. Parents can attend up to three 90-minute in-person or online workshops per year for each of the first five years of their child’s life. Classes and materials are split into three sessions per year, once in the fall, winter and spring. Each session demonstrates to families the activities you can share with your child to build upon his or her development in that age group. Age groups are split into 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 and 4-5; and are offered at each class in both a virtual and in-person format. Register for the age group of your child based on his/her age on September 1 of 2025. Please note: this workshop is designed for parents/guardians alone (infants are welcome). Newborn to 15 Months Join us at Nicollet Commons Park to meet other families with young babies, share information, and get parenting support from a licensed parent educator. Enjoy the water fountains at the park; Rockin' Reader Storytime is 11:30 a.m. There is plenty of shade for extra sunny and warm days. Bring a blanket, pack a snack or lunch if you would like.
