Enjoy the colorful drive through farmlands and the rural communities of Minnesota. 9:45 a.m. Arrive at the New Ulm Visitors Center. Self-service coffee, treats and restrooms are available. 10:00 a.m. A local guide will step on the motor coach for a riding tour. Get an introductory view of this unique village. New Ulm is truly the Bavarian capital of the Midwest. The tour will include the history and points of interest: View the architecture downtown, see the Herman Monument, drive past the homes of Governor John Lind and author, Wanda Gag. Drive past historic churches, museums, and memorials. 11:55 a.m. The tour concludes at the Glockenspiel Musical Clock Tower, one of the world's few free-standing carillon clock towers. 12:09 p.m. At the conclusion of the chimes, walk one block, (or reload the bus) to Veigel’s Kaiserhoff Restaurant. 12:15 p.m. Arrive at the Kaiserhoff for lunch. Two menu choices, select which you prefer at the time of registration. You will receive a color-coded slip of paper with menu choice to put at your place setting. Choose one of the following: 1.) Landjaeger Old German Style Pork and Beef Smoked Sausage, Served with Hot German Potato Salad, Sauerkraut, served with Fresh Rye Bread, Beverage. 2.) Beer Battered Cod Basket served with French Fires, Cole Slaw, Beverage. 1:30 p.m. Leave Veigel’s Kaiserhoff. 1:45 p.m. Arrive at August Schell’s Brewery for a walking tour that includes the old brew house, a view of modern production, a visit to the museum to learn about the historic buildings on the grounds. See the bottling and canning line before a sampling in the Rathskeller Tap Room. (NA rootbeer is available) [Note: To enjoy this tour visitors will need to walk or stand for over an hour and manage a flight of stairs. You may choose to stay in the Beer Hall to avoid the stair portion of the tour. 3:00 p.m. After the tour, stroll through the gardens and spend time in the gift store. 3:30 p.m. Leave New Ulm 5:15 p.m. Estimated return time to Burnsville. Minimum 30 passengers and Maximum 50 passengers. Registration Deadline April 11. No Refunds after this time. $99/passenger includes the cost of transportation, features outlined in the description, taxes and customary gratuities. Voluntary tips for the driver and tour director are customary and vary with the extent of the trip. Industry standards range from $1-$5 per passenger for each.
