NEW! Uncovering Urban Lives: records, data correlation and family networks to track ancestors in the city
This course discusses bringing together different genealogical sources to track people living in cities. We will talk about census records, city directories, vital records, church records, deeds, newspapers, maps, and other resources to illuminate your ancestors. This class will emphasize data correlation to differentiate same-name people and use the FAN club methodology to follow a family unit.
Audience: Intermediate to Advanced; though beginners will also benefit from learning about genealogical sources which existed in cities much earlier than in rural areas.
