RUG Roots JamClubs and Common InterestsThe music in the RUG jam is from the traditions that make up the American roots musical ethos; specifically those sounds that are merged from from both old and new bluegrass, blues, cowboy, country, folk, and rockabilly music. RUG jams are moderate paced jams led by Twin Cities Ukulele Club jam leaders. This jam is geared to beginner and and advanced uke players, teen to adults. What is a Jam - Jam sessions are often used by musicians as a social gathering to share the music they love as well as explore new music. Jams are fun times to play music with others. These are jams, not lessons or workshops, but we will touch on some "how to's" to help us play better. Plus, the ukulele, and Roots music in general, is so easy to play that even if you have never played before, we’ll show you simple chords to get you playing along right away. Safeway Driving School for TeensTeenDrivers Education for Teens, with Safeway Driving School.Safeway Driving School offers Classroom and Behind-the-wheel instruction as well as a Parent involvement class. Classroom Instruction prepares the student to take the Minnesota permit test and begin the responsibility of driving. The 30 hours of classroom is structured into 10 independent lessons. If a student needs to miss a lesson, they can make up that exact lesson at the next Burnsville session or at one of Safeway's fixed locations. After class is completed, students who are 15 years old are eligible to take their permit test at any Minnesota exam center. Behind -the-Wheel Instruction includes six hours of driving in three 2-hour lessons. All driving will be in a real car with a responsible, licensed Safeway instructor. The lessons are given on actual city streets, highways and freeways. It is recommended that students take their first lesson 6-8 weeks after receiving their permit. The Safeway lessons should be a minimum of 30 days apart to allow for practice driving. The lessons can be completed up to one year after obtaining the permit. Scheduling is offered online for 24/7 convenience. All of Safeway's cars are white with identical graphics, so parents and students are confident that it is a Safeway car picking up the student for a lesson.
